Year In Review - The Lifers

tspuckler Dec 18, 2007 07:35 AM

Thanks for the advice on posting multiple pics - you guys rock!
Here are photos of my "lifers" for the year:

Carter Caves, Kentucky - May 13-15, 2007

My first ever Rough Green Snake (Opheodrys aestivus).

A newly metamophised Kentucky Spring Salamander (Gyrinophilus porphyriticus duryi).

We also found five-lined skinks, northern ringneck snakes, a pickerel frog, slimy salamander, fence lizards, longtail salamander, and a black kingsnake.

Las Vegas, Neveda - June 1-9, 2007

Mojave Fringe-toed Lizard (Uma scoparia) found at Kelso Sand Dunes in California.

Sagebrush Lizard (Sceloporus graciosus) found on Mount Charleston.

A Great Basin Fence Lizard (Sceloporus occidentalis longipes) also found on the mountain.

Desert Patchnose Snake (Salvadora hexalepis mojavensis) the only snake found on this trip.

We also found Chuckwallas, Night Lizards, Zebra-tails, Desert Spiny Lizards, Side-blotched Lizards, Whiptails, and Desert Iguanas.

Los Gatos, California - July 13-20, 2007

California Reg-legged Frog (Rana aurora draytonii).

Santa Cruz Garter Snake (Thamnophis atratus) - the highlight of the trip.

We also found ensatinas, fence lizards, alligator lizards, and northern pacific rattlesnakes.

It was a pretty good year, despite the draught which made herping tough!
