If you were looking for a species they are called Sceloporous. There are several of them ranging all over the country. the males are the ones with the prominenet blue belly coloration. Some are live bearers and some are egg layers. We currently keep one species that is a live bearer. Very cool and interesting little lizards.

my roommate and I decide to keep it.

we got crickets for it, but not sure how often and how much we should feed it.

Can't see the lizard clearly to ascertain the species, except it's a Sceloporus. It could eat 2-3 adult crickets in a feeding if it's a Yarrow's spiny or larger, and I feed mine every third day, with fill-in feedings of waxworms on the in-between days. Every third feeding of crickets, I sprinkle the crickets with calcium powder.

You should also have a UVB fluorescent light in addition to your basking light.
