The big gator on the bottom I know very well. I also recognize the animal in the other pics. We have spent alot of time with the larger animal with the high school students who are studying crocodilian thermoregulation with us.

Hey Chris,

Is that the spot you were telling me about beside the tower where the two big ones hang out? I thought you meant farther down, but if that pic is the same as the place I'm posting, then there wasn't anything there. I think your two gators we're closer to the start of the trail. I saw two big ones there... prob for the deeper warmer water..

Thats the spot but there is a real whopper who patrols the other side of Elm Lake. The one you have in your picture has a marking on his head that I identify him with each trip. In your pic they have flooded the park for migratory birds so the alligators have the freedom to swim to greater areas rather than being confined in the side pools.

I like that pic from the tower.

I LOVE that place!!!!! I will have to see if I can get some of my pics from there put in to some sort of digital format. I saw one HUGE gator while I was there one day. Had to be about 12 or 13 feet and I am not kidding.
