peteralbrian Aug 25, 2003 02:28 PM

i rad in se veral places about propper ventilation but what is it really? i'm building 2 boa cages which will lay side by side and maybe connect in the middle. whats the best ventilation? 2 vents on the topp or one on the top and one on the side or maybe the front?

and anyone with boas? do they like the shelves like those of the boaphile or are they worth less?

` Venting on top wastes humidity. I keep Boas, and high humidity ( 75 to 90% ) keeps them healthy, and shedding properly. I vent about six inches above floor level, on opposing sides. I use small, 3 inch computer fans, on a timer. They turn on 5 to 6 times in daylight, and twice at night, for a half hour. The fans are on the outside and pressurize the cage. I get the fans from the computer salvage store, used. There are 110 volt fans, and 12 volt fans. Don't mix them up, it would be quite dangerous!!
