pregnant question

zzliljayzz Aug 25, 2003 02:51 PM

Hi my name is zack and im a first year breeder. i have a couple of questions. i purchased a female bearded dragon about 5 weeks ago and put her in a tank with a 1.5 year old male that has never seen a female. after about 3 hours he started to show some aggressive behavior then he made his move. he deffinitely succesfully mated with her at least three times that i saw in person. its been 5 weeks and last week i notice an increase in weight. now she is acting very strange for the last 2 days for example scrathing the glass way morethen she normally does and not eating. she is a huge eater to. and i notice little lumps in her stomach but not to noticeable. i can feal them wen i touch her stomach. is she deffinitely pregnant. how big should her lay box be.how long and high. i would really appreciate someone helping me out here thank u by

I would set up a large rubbermaid storage tub (from walmart) and half fill it with a mix of sand and clean top soil. You want it moist enough to pack together but not dripping wet. I usually place a heat lamp over one end of the tub. If she has stopped eating, you can feel eggs and she is digging, I would say get this tub set up ASAP!
After she has laid them and buried them, give her a nice bath.. she will be very thristy. Then put her back in her own tank and feed her well. Then move the eggs to an incubator!

Good luck
