minimum breeding weight 4 sinaloan?

adamjeffery Dec 20, 2007 08:13 PM

i know that the norm is always 3,3,3 - 3 feet 3 years 300 grams.
but what is the minimum breeding weight seen in sinaloans. they seem to stay on the small side as far as colubrids go though i have seen 4 footers and probaly a little larger.
the reason im askin is that im looking at a couple differant 05 females and they are both pushing 3 feet but the one is 140 grams and the other is 158. which seems small for a snake that should breed in 08. i know if i took my time with them that they could probally be over 200-225 by seasons beginnings but i would like a response from someone with more experience than me with them.

Yeah Adam,....that does sound like they're pretty light!, but if you put them on a good feeding schedule, I'm sure they'll be okay for breeding in '08. I didn't bother digging up some old records I have of some female Sinaloan weights, but I can get back to you with them. In any case, if you got them, and started "pouring the coals" to them, I'd say....NO PROBLEM!

later buddy,.....................DO-TA-DOO!
