As some would say about their snake collections. I happen to fall in that category. haha. I currently only have 8 boas, but I am rather proud of the small, high-end, diverse collection I have built up. It may not be the biggest collection of boas around, but I have a pretty good selection that I think can produce some crazy combinations in the next few years for me. Not bad for only being 22 years old. Here's a quick tour and introduction into my collection:

This first girl is the first high-end boa I ever owned. I was 18 when I bought her at NARBC Chicago, she is a 2004 albino female 66% het stripe. She is now about 6 feet and will breed next fall, I dont have a male for her this season-

Next, this girl is a MONSTER. 100% het albino She was purchased from SR Snakes when she was 11 months old, and was already 52' long. She was born in June 2004, and is now 7' in length and over 25lbs on empty. I am also holding her off until next season where she has a date with my favorite male who you will meet later on... She has a very weird color to her I can't capture on camera, she has a tint of GREENish/red to her.... odd...

This next girl is also 100% het albino, and is even bigger! Around 8', pushing 30lbs, is said to be a proven breeder that gave out 40 babies 2 years ago. I got her from a friend of mine. She is very dark, but they say the darkest hets make the brightest albinos.... we shall see...

next, this girl is one of my holdbacks, I produced her in June of 2006 from an albino male to an argentine female. She is a 50% argentine/colombian cross 100% het albino. Again, can't capture all of her colors, but she is RED! Let me say that again, RED! I wish I had a better camera than my digital camera. She's gorgous and about 50" right now, may breed next season to a sunglow, 33 babies in this litter, first is her mom during gestation-

here she is after her first shed at less than 2 weeks old-

and 18 months, almost 4 feet later-

and her sister who isn't quite as pretty, and isn't quite as docile either. I call her... well, I can't say what I call her, but here she is... haha-

next up we have the girl who's in the spotlight this season, she was originally a holdback of Pete Kahl, until he let her go, and now I have her, muah ha ha.... 2003 Arabesque 100% het albino, she's over 7' and 26lbs on empty. Is in the ending stages of breeding right now with her current boyfriend, the first pic was taken in april 2006, she's grown since -

next up we have the lone sexually mature male in the entire house. (lucky little fella with all these big beautiful girls!) He is a 2004 Rich Ihle sunglow. I've posted about him before, but look at his tail, very irridescent looking, I'm hoping it will prove out genetic. He is the hopeful soon to be father of some sunglow arabesques, I'm trying to imagine sunglow arabesques with his tail..... *drooling*

and last but DEFINATELY not least..... the newest addition to the collection, my 2007 ALBINO MOTLEY MALE! I have fallen in love with this little guy, and rightfully so I think. I don't even need introduction about him. Hopefully I can find a DH sunglow female for him next fall, if not, he will go to 1, if not both of my big het females.

That is a fine collection. I think that lavender should improve with the Arab pairing.
I've just never been able to throw down the big dough for the high end stuff. Always wind up spending just as much money. End up with more snakes worth less. That's all.
You've got the right idea. I see there are more and more like you into it now. It's more acceptable to spend that kind of money on a snake these days. I've still got that old timer mentality that $100 is too much to pay for a snake. That's my generation I think.
