That smelled awful....

I've been worrying about Zeffer the past few days and called around to finally locate a vet that would treat reptiles. He ate a few crix yesterday so I waited all day for him to defecate so I would have a sample to take to the vet.

He finally defecated earlier and it was runny and very(I stress) VERY smelly. I'm thinking now instead of just having the fecal done I should take him in as well.

What are your thoughts or ideas that could have caused this?

sounds as if it could be coccidia.

Runny smelly poo is a deffinite sing of parasites or cocaclia(blah, never can remember how to spell that). Take the poo or as much as you can get into a small container, and take it to the vet. You could bring your beardie in too so the vet can access his overall health. It would be a good chance to get him weighed etc this way easier to track if he continues to lose weight or starts to gain weight after treatment.

They'll need to know his weight to give him medicine.

I was really hoping that he was going to be ok without a vet visit. The vet I contacted said to get a fresh fecal sample. Now I know he won't be using the bathroom anytime soon since he barely touched any food today. I saved the sample or as much of it as I could. Will that be ok?
