multiple gecko housing

If you house several leos together, but one of them has to go for a vet visit, would you quarantine that leo for awhile before returning it back to the original tank?

I'm guessing the answer would be yes, but is that what you folks would do?

...that the leo would probably be separated anyway if it were sick enough to require a vet visit.

But my gecko isn't sick. I'm thinking about bringing Locke to see a vet because I still cannot get the skin off his toe. He just shed again, and it actually caused more skin to get caught on his other toe (which I've removed). I've soaked him twice more, but it still won't come off.

Well if he isnt sick, then I would worry about quaratine him with the others if thats where he has been all along. But if you thought he as sick that is another story. But since it is just due to skin shed problem then no needs to worry about another tank. In my opinon.

But because I will have exposed him to an area where other reptiles are or have been. That's why I'm wondering if it's ok to return him to the original tank when I bring him home.

i was going to ask you that earlier.. if it was because he may he infected by something at the vets office.. personally i wouldn't worry to much about it.. since he has cage mates and you decided to quarintine him for lets say 3 months.. he might or the others might not want to share a cage anymore...vets are pretty sanitary places and leos are pretty hardy.. my sister works in a vets office and i asked her and she said if he is just going into exam room and not in the back with other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles etc... you really don't have a ton to worry about.. but there is always a slim chance he could catch something and ruin the rest of your leos.. but i think it is very slim...jmo though do whatever you feel is best..
