For Eddie F!

Promised you a picture of my setup.

I'd like to point out that there are no hides in there becaaaaause there's anywhere from 2" to 4" worth of substrate in there that Bvrk the kingsnake can burrow in. She spends most of her time in a small cave she repeatedly creates under the basking log. I stir everything up once or twice a week, and add more water as needed. The very bottom of the substrate is very damp, but it dries as it gets to the top.
I used a lot of sand, some coconut mix, some orchid bark, and a little bit of moss.

I've had no problems feeding, no problems shedding, and she is growing like a little purple weed. I'm very pleased with the whole thing.
The book that gave me the idea is called "The Art of Keeping Snakes", and I found it at LLL Reptile.

Here's the setup!

There is one live plant in there, but it's actually planted in a tupperware, and the substrate is piled up on top so that I don't have to worry about the roots.

Albino = see through!

Wow Jenny, that really looks great and natural! Thanks for the info. I like the challenge and reward of creating a habitat and then watching an animal take to it.
Thanks!
