New Blood

Ronin3886 Dec 21, 2007 06:43 PM

I am planning on getting a Blood. I made a deposit on the animal and I have a few questions for people. The snake is farm-raised and C.H.. Also I have read a few posts stating feeding problems. It is a female that is between 500-600 grms and an '06 hatch. She was bought from the farm and was held by a VERY well known breeder for about a year. The the company I am purchasing through has held her for a few months. Should I have concerns or questions.

thanks

I would ask the person I was aquire the animal from what type of conditions have they kept the animal under. Then try to duplicate them to the best of your ability. More so if you run into proublems. But I have had to let animals settle in for a period sometimes, sometimes not. Then also read up on the basics. I read about bloods and short-tails for about six months. Then I set up my enclosure and got it to where it was running with the temps and humidity where I wanted them. Then I got the animal. I had bought a Crocodile Skink once before I had everything set-up. It proubly took me ten days of toying, before I got everything acceptable. Proubly all the time stressing the animal to some extent. Sorry for the long-windedness.
