...Okay, so, the story in a nutshell--I work/manage, whatever you want to consider what I do, in a huge reptile section at a pet superstore. A couple weeks ago, we got in a big adult female JCP and I fell in love.
I was bugging my boss about getting me a price on her so I knew what I was looking at cost wise, and she was just being a big grump about it so I decided, eh, whatever. I don't have to have her.
Well.
My boss gave us our Christmas bonuses today, right? I opened my little card and I was all "Uhhh. Wtf? Where's my money?"
Then I noticed a little piece of paper in the envelope.
I open it up to essentially find the following--
"Merry Christmas! Your choice--100.00 dollars or that Jungle Carpet Python! :]
~Melena and Greg"
I dropped the card and the note and ran all the way up front screaming and tackled my boss and pulled her into a hug. :]
She just goes "Merry Christmas. I take it you want Whistler?" (the snake's name.)
SOOOO.
In a nutshell--My boss got me a snake I've been about to DIE to have for Christmas and I am the happiest herpetology student on the planet right now.
HOWEVER.
I've never personally {as in long-term} kept any sort of Morelia python. Most of my experience is with Varanids, Colubrids, and the bigger Boids, like burms and retics.
Anyone have any advice for getting her home and settled in?
