...I posted back in June that I had taken the eggs from a roadside "deathtrap" as I watched mama lay them. The first one is beginning to hatch. I intend to release most of them back into the wild near where the eggs were laid, but will keep a few no doubt. Also, I have a good sized pond with bluegill, bass, catfish.
Any advice for the first few days out of the shell? I have done my homework, but it is all theory thus far. Would like to know what has worked for you, or what you have heard has worked in terms of a "nursery" setup. This is a rare treat, getting to see the eggs hatching after watching BIG MAMA do her thing back in June.
