MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

CSRAJim Dec 21, 2007 08:22 PM

All,

Before I forget, I just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy (and Safe) New Year...

Yes, I know she's not Mexicana but, I also work with Brooksi because they were a favorite way back when...Finding normal (un-morphed) Brooksi has been a challenge though...

Later,
Jim

my favorite getula is the white sided brooksi, no albino, axthanic or any thing else in them just normal brooksi with white sides. I love them.

Merry Christmas to you & yours also,

John,

Thanks man...Yes, they are old time favorites of mine but, "normals" seemed to have disappeared with the "morph" craze over the years...I remember going to some of the early Orlando shows and very nice Brooksi could be found there...These days it's "morphs"...Oh well, I guess I'll have to produce my own...

An old buddy of mine has a very senior gent from Lloyd Lemke stock...I hope to get some offspring from him in 2008 with her. I hope they get along for the DNA exchange! Ha! Ha!

Later,
Jim.

They are hard to find now days, and with the re-working of all the names on the florida king complex we may never see them again, unless folks like you stay after them. I was lucky enough in 1976 to catch a beautiful bright yellow male while on a trip to florida. Still one of my highlights of field collecting.

John,

Do you have any photos of him?

After reading Bartlett's book about Carl's efforts down there on field collecting trips that produced and grand total of 4 (if I remember correctly...in any case it wasn't many). Over the years, I think folks forgot just what they had before "morphing" them...

Sometimes I really miss the old days!

Later,
Jim.

When I put in time i find them on a regular basis. I live minutes from one of the best areas in south Florida to find so I guess I'm lucky in that reard. I think I am going to start to take pics from now on and I have not kept one in a long time. I have noticed in the last few years they have been a choir to find in any numbers too many people doing it for the money.
