Breeding Size for Cali's

greghaugen Dec 22, 2007 05:09 PM

First, I must apologize since I know this is somewhere in the archives but I can't find it when I searched. I picked up a pair of Lav. Albino Cali's today. I'm wondering a few questions. First what is a good size or weight for breeding? My female is 330 grams and my male is 290 grams, both are over 30", haven't gotten out the string and measuring tape just yet.

Secondly, getting them this late, how will this effect breeding? They have not been cooled yet?

Thanks in Advance-I'll post some pictures after I let them settle in.

Cool them now and bring them back up in March, they should be able to breed with the info you gave.

I was thinking about keeping them warm for a week maybe just to make sure they're "empty" before cooling. Is this a good idea?

I usually wait two weeks after feeding them before I start cooling my snakes. This clears out most of their digestive system.
