I read that you can give Crocodilians multi vitamins. I was wondering if you should give them to young caiman and if so is there a specific type one should give.

Well, if you are referring to herp type multivitamins, yes, it's very important that you do if you aren't giving a completely balanced diet (mostly whole prey items). Repcal's "Herptivite" is the best vitamin supplement on the market, but you need to mix it with their calcium supplement as well (imperative). You CAN give crocs human multivitamins, but obviously you wouldn't give a small croc a normal human dosage. I know Chris Dieter has (possibly still does) give his crocs human multivitamins. I'm sure he has to split them up into sections to avoid giving the croc too much of one thing.

I still use multivitamins and calcium tablets although we use less of them as we slowly but surely progress to a 100% Mazuri diet.
I used entire tablets placed inside food items. The single tablet itself is unlikely to cause a problem. But then again you shouldn't supplement until you have a profile of your animals diet in the first place. The tablets fill in 'holes' that may be in the diet depending on what you are offering. If the diet is varied and whole animals are used this is less of a concern.
The Mazuri diet in our experience produces excellent results.
