Tegu Number 2: A Blue

MAP Aug 25, 2003 04:25 PM

Well, one is never enough. So Saturday we packed the whole Fam Damily for a trip down to San Deigo area and came back with a beautiful 5 week old Blue. (Pics to post soon.)
As far as a name-the current favorite is: Bogata aka "Bogie"

And an update on Maggie our Argentine Red who had not been eating well - Big improvement. By all appearances, she had been hibernating (yes she is a little seasonally challenged!) Over the past week she has been emerging on her own, spending time basking, and EATING. YES!!! A few bites of ground turkey/egg/Miner-all each of the past 2 days.

Further updates and pics to follow. Thanks to all who have been giving advice on Maggie's poor eating habits. We're hoping the recent trend continues.

After isolation, we'll begin to introduce the cousins. MY wife (and 3 girls) as about as excited as with a new baby in the house.

Thanks all......MAP

Glad Maggie is eating again. Congrats on the 2nd tegu! You're right, one is never enough. Hmmm, there MIGHT be enough room in that castle to house 'em together.

"The Castle." Now thats a new name for it. We plan on trying them out together in there (after quarantine and settling in), at least while they're still juvies. But I'm already planning a room addition of some sort........(a bigger house is going to be necessary just to have enough room for the tegus' "castle."
