What is everyones opinion on a males size for his first year breeding? I have always heard that people like to keep their males a little smaller then their females. What should my male be weighing in at if I want to get him into this next season?

Some people can get their 300 g male to breed, and some people have troubles getting a 1500 gram male to breed.
If he's only going to breed one or two girls, then 300 grams at a bare minimum might be enough. However...he might not go. Better luck might be had at 600 grams...
In any case, if he doesn't breed for you at a small weight, then just keep feeding him and try again when he's gained another hundred grams.

Last season my pastel was 500g and 9mos old and he did better than my older 800g males. This year I have a 500g YB and he's doing really well. I think it just depends on the individual.
