cm_reptiles Dec 24, 2007 02:28 PM

Still has the bump seems fine cept for the bump and no eating. I ain't trying to breed her as shes a 05 and I'm waiting for that. The bump just appeared and she seems healthy cept the bump and not eating. I am hoping it goes away on its own. My vet charges a arm and leg and won't even be in till mid jan. I have never had any problems with my boa colony and heat and everything aint changed. IS IT A RUB MARK? DID anyone look at my pics??????

I am putting a oitment on her face. Well that help or will it just be a waste?????????

Depends on the ointment. If you are using one with any pain relieving properties to it, than you may be causing another problem.

The link you posted did not work, so it's hard to tell how to help.

Some how I believe it will take far more then simple advise to turn this around for you.Your clearly not listening to what has already been said.(previous thread)
The fact your animal is refusing to eat IS NOT a GREAT CONCERN !!
Its common for boa to go off feed during winter months
Again NO BIG DEAL !!

Nose rubs are common, some are more extreme then others, you have described something that ISN'T URGENT !! needs to be addressed if the skin becomes broken, but at this stage nothing you do can make a difference till the animal chills out.

AGAIN !! use a photo hosting service like photobucket.com if you would like to post the pic to this forum.

Since you are having problems getting the picture posted, does it look like this? Is it any worst? Is it less obvious?

Unless it is ruptured, or gone to abscess, there is no point in treating it at this time with any ointments. It either goes away cuz she chilled out, or it gets worst because she continues to rub.

You were given advice in the other thread about creating a dark environment by covering the cage. Have you tried this? If she refuses food, are you waiting a full week before trying to feed again? Offering every couple days will stress her even more.

We are trying to help, but without a picture, we can only speculate as to the severity of the condition. Without trying the advice already given, it makes it look as if you aren't listening or something.

THATS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

That's what we've been trying to help you with. Now, go back and read all the good advice you've been given and apply it.

Then take the advice that was given to you. Black out her cage in an effort to get the rubbing stopped. It will likely go away in time, or it may stay, but it's not a severe rub.

You might raise the temps about 5° to help stimulate an appetite. Don't offer her food for another week if she refuses. Maybe even 2 weeks.

Just some advice...When a Boid goes off feed, it really is not a huge concern till some MONTHS have passed. I had a BP that fasted for 9 months, and hardly lost any weight in that time. They just don't need to eat as often as we seem to think they do.

Good luck!
