Shipping boas to Europe...

shedthegear Dec 24, 2007 02:37 PM

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I need to ship two 6 month-old boas to Holland.

Who can I use?
How long does it take?
What is the general cost?

Thanks.

First if the breeder or seller is not inclined to export, Ill pretty much sum it up that it wount happend in the end. Offcourse there can be expentions to this, but Iv beend own that route before and alot of people say they will do this and that, and in the end you are the one with snakes payed for in the U.S and no export papers.

Iv worked on international cites many times and even with promises of cites in a sett amount of days, it usually takes forever. Both in Europe and in the US.

Than add up the airport fees, shipping, more airport fees and some veterinary fees and then the European tax.. well its cheaper to buy EUCB at a higher price than to import something you can find cheap for sale in the U.S.

And in europe you can drive and pick up the animal, so you can see what you get in person, complaining about apperance because of non desciptive pictures after you reccive will probably not get you far because the its the cites haule all over again.

Since the time from applying for cites to actual shipping is usually about 6months alot of problems may occure, beshure to make agreement about what happends if one of theme dies, feeding regiment etc.

good luck.
