Retic Cages?

AlexO Dec 28, 2007 02:05 AM

Hey guys... i'm pretty new to retics but have been doing alot of research on them and know a few people who own them. I currently have a het for albino male and am looking into purchasing more. I know these suckers grow fast and I am looking for some for ideas on some setups and would love to see what you guys/gals have at home. Iam planning on building a bigger set up in a year or so. I just want my snake(s)to be happy and to have a decent looking setup. Any ideas or pics will be greatly appreciated thanks.

How big of a set up do you have now?

The cages we built to house our "big stuff" were made out of plywood or MDF (mdf looks a lot nicer). and we used a type of hardware mesh that was plastic coated for a "window".
One individual cage is 7' long, 4' tall 4' wide.

There are 4 of these cages 2 stacked on 2.

Ran us about 700$ to build the 4- not counting light boxes, water containers, flexwatt and the plexy we put down over the flexwatt....

we built them with insulation and the works. There is electricity ran into each cage for the lights mounted on the celing for back heat and the flexwatt cords are run through the back wall and plugged in.

They are pretty nice but still need some modifications- we are putting down a new product- that is smooth- b/c cleaning poo off plywood is impossible. requires a spray gun and LOTS of towels...

good luck on the retics!
I love em' !!
