bumblebee = spider x pastel

The blue eye lucy complex is exactly that, very complex. I'll give you a list of the animals in that complex.

Lesser Platinum
Mojave
Butter
Phantom
Vin Russo hets

Blue eyed lucies can be made from breeding any two like animals from the above list, or a combination of any of the two. I probably missed one, but I think I got the bulk of them.

Other combinations that can make white snakes is Fire x Fire = black eyed lucy and Lesser Platinum het Pied x Pied or het Pied gives you a chance of producing a white Pied. I am curious if the Mojave and Butter genes will work with the Pied in the same manner as the Lesser Platinum because of the fact that those three genes are compatable when combined to make a blue eyed lucy. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

Lesser, is what you get paid for for a hatchling morphs from the year before. If it is a co-dom they are referred to as a "Halfer".

Happy New year!

So Ralph Davis ( www.ralphdavisreptiles.com ) originally had an animal he acquired that he named his Platinum Ball (also referred to as Platty Daddy) that when he started working to figure out the inheritance of(and if inheritable at all) saw that the babies that showed a marked difference from normals, were also not the exact same thing as Platty Daddy, and so he named them "Lesser Platinums".

So far, it seems that Platty Daddy has 1 copy of the Lesser Gene (2 copies of lesser = lucy) and 1 copy of the gene that has been dubbed "Dilute". The dilute gene so far can only be inherited from a Platty Daddy, or a Platty Daddy "normal" offspring.

Ralph has also produced A "Butter Daddy" from his butter line bred with a "normal platty offspring".

Hope this helps explain, don't have alot of time so might be a lil bit unclear.
