New Jobiensis Enclosure.

MikesMonitors Dec 28, 2007 09:30 AM

This is my new Jobiensis enclosure.
8'L, 3'W, 8'H.
This enclosure has two external boxes, one is a hide box(right side) and the one on the left a "nest" box(temp controlled).

The green platform has a hide shelf underneath it.

We just bought our dream house and my new reptile room(garage)is heated and air conditioned, with 12' ceilings!
Time to start building some really tall enclosures!

Gone from log cabins to log highrises, 'eh? Heeheehee!!!

Have you thought about covering the tin can with wood? I kinda like it but the tank stands out. It's ingenuitive and appears to be well crafted.

How did you get the top (wood) to balance out with so much weight difference between the front & back?

Have a good one!

Mikie
Not sure exactly how the weight is distributed?
All I know is that without the trough being filled with substrate it would probably buckle.

Well, looks neat and I didn't mean to take anything away from it by thinking it might look a lil' better by covering the trough to make it all wood, more uniform.

From the photos it looks like the timbers would be "back-heavy," tending to lean backward easily. That's what I meant how the weight was distributed.

Kudos for taking the time of putting pride into your work. It shows & makes a difference.

Catch ya later!
