ctenosaura enclosures

i have a 3 foot long 2 foot wide 5 foot tall enclosure made from plywood with a large window on 3 sides i was wondering if i should use plexi or mesh if mesh what kind do i need? also i plan on painting it but not sure what kind of paint is safe. also id like to se some pics of other cteno cages. i plan on getting a male similis as soon as it warms up....
