the basking spot surface temp should be aorund 130f, by surface temp i mean the temperature of the ground not air temperature. i would say hot side ambient air temp of 90f cool side air temp like 75f.
i do not have any monitors now but i have in the past, including savannahs.the biggest rectangular horse trough ive seen was 10fx4ftx2ft round ones 10feet in diameter.i suggest goin to proexotics.com reading all of their monitor caresheets and also their FAQ's page there is a ton of really good info.also read through the different posts here.most monitor care is pretty much the same as far as temps, and basic husbandry so check out all the post theres also a ton of pics of horse trough cages on proexotics.com along with posts on this forum. farm and fleet sells horsetroughs and most livestock feed stores do also. have fun

I get mine at tractor supply they usually have any size. If you do not have a tractor supply in your area try a feed store or farm related store. thanks Ian
