Nutritinal quality of my rodents

Leo_Solis Dec 28, 2007 03:07 PM

Hello, I have seen that a lot of people have been using dog food or pig food for their rodents, since a lot of time ago, and having no problems with their rodents. I am currently using pig breeder pellets for my rats, mice and hamsters. I am worried about the quality of the rodents that I am breeding, mostly because my retic is eating really a lot and really often (like any healthy young tic), so shuold I be worried about the healt of my retic, due to the kind diet that I am using for the rats that she eats?
THANKS

I firmly believe that the food that goes in your prey does reflect on the snake.

I have no proof either way, but I like to give them mazuri or harlan over dog food or any other feed, mostly because it's made for rats. Dog food for dogs, rat food for rats. ~C

Also, I guess I should clarify, i dont think if it will affect your tic negatively... That would be hard to prove...
but I think the better diet for your rodents does reflect positively in the long run.
