General Veiled Cham questions

SpeedracerBecki Aug 25, 2003 06:44 PM

Hi everyone, I'm new here! I've been reasearching veileds for about 3 months and just got a female, about 4" long. I'm in love!
I do have some questions though that I haven't been able to find any consistent answers on.
1. How big of a wire/mesh cage should I get for this one chameleon? This is the big question, I'm going to order it asap.
2. How many crickets (that's all I've got for now but I'm looking into getting more variety) a day should I give her, and how often should I dust them?
3. Do any others only have one chameleon? How do you maintain a variety of feeder insects as long as it takes the cham to eat them all? I'm looking for some way to buy in bulk so that I don't have to spend a million dollars, but this is my only bug eating animal. How important is the variety? Any suggestions on which others to try? I'm looking at silkworms and butterworms, but I don't know if I can keep those without setting up a whole heated environment.

I know there's more, I just can't think of them right now! Thanks so much! I'll try to attach a pic of her.
