Feeding freezer-burned pinkies/fuzzies

Lobes85 Dec 28, 2007 06:23 PM

I've run into an issue with keeping my pinks/fuzzies from getting freezer burned and I've been feeding them normally (well thawed) to my baby pyros. Are there any health hazards with feeding freezer burned prey? Obviously if they're dried up and burnt so bad they dont resemble a mouse, then of course I wont be feeding those. But for right now, is a mild case of freezer burn okay for my reptilian amigos?

Thanks

-AM

..won't do them harm.

But I am surprised you pyros will even take unpalitable fare.

Then again, I house mostly Florida kings and they will eat and digest anything.

I would say the mice with freezer burn won't do them harm and will probably make the easier to digest. Good on you for having such feeding machines.

Well, I wouldn't recommend they eat those for eternity, but I certainly don't see being fed some now and then to be a health issue to be concerned about.

I always force as much air out of the ziplock bag as possible,.....then seal it up well to prevent this from happening.

Well if you are going to take it literally. I hope not either.

A snake sees that peaceful scenery just prior to dying from eating too many freezer-burnt mice!?..LOL....hmmmm
