hmmm...always brown

my biggest anole has not been green since soon after I got him (2 weeks ago). He'll green up a bit at night when sleeping but I know this is typical. I am going to move him tomorrow and hopefully have a chance to sex him(?). My only guess is that I have 2:1 rather than 1:2 as originally thought. He tends to steer clear of the other two (one green, one brown) who are almost constantly on each other (not mating just together - you know how they can be ) Even the other green is always 1/2 & 1/2 regardless of surface he is on. Sometimes his brwon becomes an ashen color. The temps are fine (basking 90, rest 80-ish) humidity is usually around 60% and they share a well planted 30 gal glass vivarium.

Any thoughts on the situation would be helpful and any suggestions on the best way to catch him in the tank without stressing him any more than he already is - poor little guy

thanks!

lele

I have found that a strong source of uvb light creates great color in green anoles. mine are outside now and have the most beutiful blue eye lids and lime green color i have ever seen.....this is the first year that they have been outside all summer and the uvb helps

also lots of potho plants and creeping ficus help with hiding.
