Quick question?

njboacom Dec 29, 2007 05:40 AM

I have a big 02 albino female an 04 DHSunglow that where going at it for about a month and a half. She seemed to have swelled, though not an obvious (football) ovulation, and then the male lost interest. She's been in shed since 12/8 which I believe to be her POS and he's been in shed for almost 10 days now. I seperated them when she went into shed and now like every novice breeder I'm wondering was that the right thing to do. Would they still copulate if they where both in shed I guess is my question.
Thanks
Ralph

could try to throw em back together, just because she didnt get a football doesnt mean she didnt take. read up on the slow motion ovulation on the forums. good read.

Thanks Jack,
I read something from Jeff Ronne where he talks about the slo-mo ovulation. I think thats probably the case here. I have two other gravid girls that where obvious. They are both doing everything a gravid female should be doing. They both seemed to be piled up in the heat conservation position a month and a half later, is this something they will continue, or do they ever get off that piled up heat position towards the end of their term?
Also, the big albino who I think is about to have her POS anyday now, is not piled up yet. Is this normal or do they usually pile up after the POS.
Sorry for all the ??'s I'm just real excited for this season.
Thanks
Ralph

I've had males loose interest if either he or the female were in shed, and I've had males (exceptional breeders) attempt to breed with both he and the female in shed. I'd say the more common that I've seen is a break in mating activity once either the male or female are in shed.

Thanks
I hope I did the right thing, thinking she was in her POS and they where done. When they both shed which should be anyday, I will offer him something small and then put them together again. I have another girl waiting for him, hope he is up to the task.

Shedding didn't slow this guy down one bit...

I'd say put them back together and see what they do.
