I would introduce him for 2 days on and give him 3 days off. When you notice that your female has ovulated which last about 24-48 hrs(would like like she ate a bunch of meals) then you can seperate him. From there she will on a deep shed and 25-30 days later the reward arrives(eggs).Hope this helps.....

In a nut shell - the female is always growing follicles - if introduced to a male at the right time she will continue to grow her follicles and then release a certain amount for fertilization (if no male she will absorb the follicles). Ovulation is when the follicles are pushed into the oviducts for fertilization by the stored up sperm (becoming an egg) - it's fairly easy to notice it looks like she swallowed a football for about 24 hours - at this point you can stop pairing them up - his job is done.

It's more a matter of the females timing as opposed to how many copulations - as for pairings - most people shoot for a variation of once a week to a couple of times a month - depending on how many females their males are breeding - allowing for feedings and rest, etc.

Hope this helps.

ok but is there STILL a possibility that even though you get POSITIVE copulations but the female does not ovulate at that given moment in time, there is not going to be any eggs? sorry for the dumb questions but i know you know where im coming from . . . the bottom of the totem pole

Yeah - it happens - last season my ghost and het bred like mad all season - no eggs. Go figure.

They are at it again this season - I may cross my fingers but I'm not holding my breath. LOL.
