What caused that?
I dunno
woke up one morning and it was there
The care of the snake is like all the others in my collection. A rack system is what they live in and the warm end is 90's and the cold end 80s. I feed every 2 weeks rodentpro rats. She usually would eat fast and be wanting any left overs she refused food since the bump. Since I only try every two weeks I will try next week. She is way to small to breed she might weigh 10 pds and shes a 05 so I had no intention of breeding her this season. I tried covering her up and it didnt seem to help the bump at all its a little smaller is all. Whats werid is my albino boa rubs all the time and doesnt get a bump at all. She is usually calm and not active and stays in a hidebox all day. I could not picture her as the one with the bump if thats what it is since shes calm. Its not a abcese cause it don't pop. To me it seems like a rub since other members posted pics of theres and its very much the same. In three weeks I hope to move her to a larger cage cause I feel that might help. Actually all my 05's are moving as soon as locks are installed on the new cages. Shes in a sweater box rack I got from the boaphile last year
I am sooo excited it just looked at her and shes doing great. Next year well hopefully be a exciting year for me. As I have a smaller collection then most on here. I hope to be breeding my double het for snows and this ghost female to a albino male. I have a lone albino female that I hope to pair up with that special arab het albino. lol cause I am poor and own alot of exotics my lovely wife limits me on my purchases in a year. I hope to buy arabesques in the next year since they are my fav. I have to pay off the macaw I'm getting first. plus downsize of few of my wild animals. WHO SElls het albino arabs? I can't find a male anywere. I also need someone who would take a payment plan since I don't get many snakes in a year. I have many references. How old does a male have to be to breed? all mine are 03 or 05's? and my females are all o3's or 05's grown up slow though. Is it better to add the female to the male cage or visa versa???? LEt me know and thanks for your help
That sounds like an awfully small container for a snake that large. I doubt your thermalcline is effective. Probably too hot all over the entire cage. Are you sure you don't mean Blanket box and not Sweater box? That would still be too small, but.
Don't want to scream at you like some tend to do, but sounds like you have got serious husbandry issues, if I'm understanding correctly what you're saying.
I'm not a qualified vet...but I play one on the Internet.

I think its a blanket box.
I clean and take care of everyone daily.
My vet gives all the animals but the retic that lives elsewhere a clean bill of health. I think you might be right on the cage to small issue cause I moved them last year to this and they all grew and now I purchased 6 cages that are for feet long by to feet wide from a breeder. I am working on getting them locking cause I have small kids and I don't know how to heat them. they are plastic and I bought ready to use units in the past. So I can't use lamps Im thinking flexwait but I am by far no electrican and its confusing to me
That didnt happen overnight !!

It did. thats the weird thing
I spend a good 10 minutes a day with every animal
It adds up like this
10 mins with guy our 100 pound sulcata tortoise
10 mins with our leopard tortoise 5 pds
10 mins with diablo the retic python 100 pounds and 15 ft
10 mins with albino redtail one
10 mins with albino redtail two
10 mins with ghost boa
10 mins with each of the double hets 3
and 1 hr with the wildcats
And soon macaws
Lol
Most of my off time is with my pets and the wife hates it
I wipe cages down daily
fresh water and mist job
check temps
Its like my secound job that dont pay
and I got three kids and A wife thats not fond of pets
I have a mutt looking adoption male who is fairly small and a few years in my possession after someone else. He was sharing an enclosure briefly with a somewhat small, but much larger than him female (whom he finally bred after a long while). The cage is 4X2 and 1.5ft high. Before breeding and after breeding, all he wanted to do was maim himself. Wanting to escape, rubbing, and never settling for a moment. He is the strangest snake I own in that way. He kept knocking over the water dish (big dish too) and soaking himself and his lady; no matter how fast I caught it... it was still damp for a bit. He developed a bit of RI and a bump on his nose from, IMO, the rubbing, excess moisture, and the fact that they liked to leave waste whenever the water was tipped. So I moved him into a holding tub for larger snakes, since he is a little too big for my smaller tubs and the new rack still isn't here, for now he gets to live in one of the 'big' tubs... the VE175 (?) I think, that is 5 ft long.
He STILL acted psycho for awhile, trying to escape, but after awhile of treatment for RI and a new bottom heavy water bowl... he wheeze is nearly gone, he's shed twice in a short period of time, and has begun eating again after a VERY long fast. The bump seems to be taking longer to show any sign of real shrinking, but it doesn't seem to bother him. I had one or two others start to show swelling before over the years, not an actual bump, but they never got any worse and I kept my eye open for anything that could irritate it, since I started to think mouth rot at first! I think generally that a small cage that is wet, or unclean, would cause the problem, but my male had space from the beginning. I'm sure moisture and bacteria have a lot to do with those bumps forming.
Good luck!

she is dry and the cage is cleaned daily
Yes. The moist dirty cage conditions will definitely exacerbate the problem. Actually, I do believe it can easily become a Pseudomonas/Mouth Rot situation.

I was replying in agreement with the previous post by charmer. Was not making any comment one way or another on your situation, buddy.

my male has the same thing, he got his from rubbing and trying to get out, their mouth gaps open until they shed then it's fine, mine has a small indent that scabbed over as well, he refused to eat 3 weeks and the fourth he shed and ate and the bump is down and his mouth is closed, here is a pic of mine that looks simular to yours. this was just taken.
