Whatever looks healthy!

:P

Honestly, if the female is eating regularly, whatever weight she's at is just fine. If a female is a slow grower, and still on mice at the end of the first year...as long as she's not skinny looking, she's at her recommended weight.

In addition to how much you feed her (this topic is a three day discussion in itself), it depends alot on the individule female. I am happy if I get her to 500 to 800 grams in the first year. This tells me I have a good eater with her and I can shoot for breeding her by her third winter, or even the second winter in some cases.

This is my opinion, I am sure other people have other opinions on this matter as well...ohh boy...here we go again! Lol!!

Both mine are 07 and I do not know when in 07 they were born but I took there weight last night, my female had just eaten and came in at 110.6g she is a very hit and miss eater, my other snakes take prey every 7 days but for some reason she likes to go a couple weeks between feedings but looks healthy anyway. My male came in with an empty belly at 217.5g I got them both in September at the Sacramento show and for all I know they were born the night before the show.

Weight really doesnt matter to me, I have bred 1100g year old females and gotten 3-6 eggs. 2500g 20 month old females and got 3-10 eggs, 800g 3-4year old females and got 3 eggs. 4500g 10 year old females and got 3-13 eggs. I go by the Snake its self. I have said it plenty of times. They tell you when its time!

I've had one year olds from 600 grams to 1400 grams - they are all on the same food and feed schedule - they just grow different.

I have 4 female poss het pieds that I hatched out in mid '07(can't remember exact month here at work) that are all over 500 grams. I only feed once a week and they are growing like weeds....they are on small rats already! Its not just about how often you feed its how big of a food item they get that also determines growth rates. Most "rookies" have no idea how big of an item a snake can eat which is most of the problem with slow growers.

I agree. I have two female pastel het pieds that I hatched in mid July. They are both 750-850 grams each. They are fed once a week and sometimes less.....getting big and looking good.
