I would go as far as to say that every island these snakes inhabit could be considered a "locale," with the resident snakes of each island showing some traits which are more or less unique to that island. But as of right now, when you buy a CH baby blood, you probably won't get a whole lot of background on its locale other than "Indonesia" or "Sumatra." And as far as I know, island blood pythons aren't being collected and farmed right now.

But I'm no expert; this is just my speculation based on what I as an amateur insider have observed going on in the blood python market for the past couple of years.

That said, if nobody told you where your snakes originated when you got them, I think you're probably out of luck. Some people might say one looks sort of like a Bangka or maybe a Malaysian or whatever, but the safest way to label them if you have any doubt is just to call them generic blood pythons.

a locale is a specific place that a snake is from, it could be an exact spot such as jefferson county, kentucky black rat snakes or semi regional - kentucky locale black rat snakes.

but you gotta have good documentation of where the ancestory of the animal is from, otherwise, the "locale" is basically a label that may or may not be accurate.

I recently found out some of the localities/bloodlines of some of my snakes and this is actually pretty exciting to me!
