The eater of snakes that get loose in the snake room has been caught. I lost a female suboc and a small Calhoun county speck to this guy apparently, as well as 6 escapee male mice that chewed through their critter keeper tops before I went to wire screen. I am soooo glad to have him back, and a total upgrade of the back herp room was in order. I found him tucked away in the smallest of holes along the baseboard behind a dresser. This guy and the female gopher I found with her tops west Texas for me! Yea! He has grown, wonder if he ate one of my Tokay geckos as well?
Also for kicks the gopher snake, I like how she is turning out as well.

Todd,........That's a good feeling to find snakes you thought might be gone forever. A few years ago, I went to put on a pair of baggy shorts that were lying in a laundry basket in my bedroom. Well, long story short,...I found one of my adult female Hondurans that got loose months prior, coiled up in the huge front pocket!!! .......It's funny, I've kept, and have been around snakes most of my entire life(age seven ~1967) and for a split-second, it scared the #&*# out of me when I went to lift up those pants to put them on,.....then a split-second later, I was overjoyed to have found her again!..LOL

Wait a second- I thought you guys told me that you lost that snake after catching it by putting it down on a nice pile of something or other at Joe's for some in-situ type shots, and you turned away for a second, then back, and the snake was gone???

That story has not happened to me, yet

haha, I got more stories, I should have labeled it Return of the King, I am gonna name him Strider, lol! He is a bad boy and not to be trusted this year, set back my suboc plans indefinitely! He now wears an ankle bracelet so I know where he is at all times, lol!

Sounds like he did some real damage while he was on the lam. Cool story behind him. He's agreat looking snake. I know your super glad to have him back.
