I have only had my snake a few months and I don't really know about any health issues. My ball python has this pinkish, sometimes even blood red bulge coming out of it's anal area. It stays out and he doesn't put his tale all the way down when he is laying around. He had it before and it went away but now it has come back after he just shed. I am wondering if this is a normal shedding thing or something more serious? I was going to take him to a vet once the holiday is over.

Definately not a shedding issue. Would have to try to post some pics and get the more experienced guys on here take a look. Most of the time they are better than a vet, that doesn't mean don't take it to the vet! If the hemipenis is inverted it will look pinkish red but I have no idea why that would happen, atleast I have never seen it happen. Does the snake act like it hurts?
