Question about age and size

cyn Dec 31, 2007 12:45 AM

I have a hypo that is a few months shy of 2 years old, 4 feet long and he's still eating small rats, I'm hoping to bump him up to mediums in the next feeding or two. I've noticed that a lot of the males his age that are breeding seem to be a lot bigger and I'm wondering if I'm underfeeding him. I'm in no rush to breed him although I would like to but I would rather have a healthy snake than a fat large snake. Any thoughts?

I have an '05 bci female that is a about 42 inches and a little over two years old and she can miss meals for the next couple of months easily but I don't plan on breeding her so I feed her about once a month so don't feel you are underfeeding him at all
