theres nothing wrong with the frog, my turtle dose it to. Think of it this way "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THE SUN ITS GONE, EVERY FROG FOR ITSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" in nature the sun gradualy turns to night, so its only natural for him to smack up against the wall he is trying to hop to the nearest sunny location, if you could get a dimming light (iam not sure they have them for tanks and sutch) it might help

would it help if i gave him a place to hide behinde like a log?

That should help, also, I'm sure someone could help you fix that problem, but give us some info on your enclosure. African bullfrogs probably need a lot of floor space, what size tank are you using?

if you has a large tank you can put in a shoe box with the lid faceing down and a short side cut out this way you can save some money and still keep your frog warm and happy, but put some water on the box to get rid of any stuff that could hurt the frog, and put some water on the box weekly to give him a humid shelter

i have it in a 20 gallon tank

Yeah, I would suggest at least a 30 gallon for an adult male since they get to 9". My adult male is in a 40 gallon breeder tank, and it still looks small for him.

Well actually I got himfrom a lady who didn't feel she was taking proper care of him, and she said he was 5 years old and I got him from her about a month ago. And here's the one pic and the other shoud be on my website.
