So I was reading a thread on another forum about people whose snakes have escaped. Does this just happen from not securing a cage? Is it possible and has anyone ever had a snake escape from a rack?

It is possible. Snakes can escape from any cage that hasn't been closed properly, secured or poorly constructed. They can also vanish if left out of a cage unattended.

I had a cornsnake awhile back, was my first snake, and his name was Houdini.
He would get out of every cage... But one of the times he got out, he never came back.
I have no clue how he got out...
He was soo cute... But small.

As long as the tub is pushed all the way into the rack, there's pretty much no way a snake can escape though correct?

We have had mid sized boas get out of a VP CB70 rack system. We don't have the tubs locked in but we push them in all the way. I keep adult ball pythons in the same style rack and have never had a problem with them. We have sat for hours and tried to figure out how the boas keep getting out. They actually push the tubs out far enough to get out! Our next step will be video survelance!!lol Out of 11 drawers in the system 3 have figured out a way out!
