I dont have much money to spend and I was gonna go to wal-mart and buy a tool rack or something to slide tubs in. Is that a good idea? I cant afford one of those $10000 Freedom Breeder Racks lol. Anyone got any ideas on making one?

1 sheet of mdf, a circular saw and some screws did it for me. Just space your shelves apart just enough to slide your tubs in with about 1/32 of an inch spacing at the top. You can email me if you want specifics.

Go to www.containerstore.com and type in 292090 in the Item search block. These storage trays are working VERY well for me and run $20 each. They stack securely on top of each other and I have them stacked 12 high, about the same height as my 11 stacked VP CB70. That means I am housing 12 balls for less than $350. The tub size is a tab bit smaller than the CB70. Only have to supply heat. I bought 23 foot heat cable and ran it under every other level. 23 ft will do about 5 tubs the way I ran it. Drill 5 or 6 holes in the very front of the tub and the heat and humidity regulates great. They also have the same box that opens the short way(10015154), I perfer opening the long way. Click on the link to see a pic of the trays beside a VP CB70 rack.

Nice! How well do they hold humidity? Cleanup?

Do you know if they have anything similar that would be approprate for hatchlings or juveniles?

Can you post a pic or two of your heat set up? I'm curious to see exactly how you did that. I have seen similar under-bed storage containers at various local stores but the gap between the top of the tub and the top of the "frame" seemed like an escape waiting to happen - also the back side usually seems to be equally open. What are the gaps like on this model?

Sorry for all of the questions, but with prefab rack prices the way they are it is always nice to find less expensive alternatives.
