Are Red Iguanas Taboo?

So I found a lady selling/adopting out a red iguana on craigslist. I am going to go and purchase it from her tomorrow. I was just wondering why no one talks about red iguanas or answer's questions about red iguanas? Does anyone on this forum have any? do they retain their red color as they get bigger? Just curious. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
