How long should I wait???????

boachris Jan 01, 2008 04:36 AM

Hey all,
So I finally built the cage of my dreams, at least for now. It is nice and roomy, and made of 3/4 ply which should hold heat a whole lot better than the aquarium I'm using now. It's also a two story, so my male will have a new home of his own.

My question is, how long should I wait before moving my newly gravid (I hope) female. She is just coming off her second ovulation, and has yet to start her POS. I don't want to mess anything up at this point by moving her too soon.

My male will love me for finally letting him escape from her. He can stop trying to force his way through the corner of the tank!

Thanks for any input!

Be careful but go ahead and move her on in. I've known many very gravid females that were moved around without incident.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll give it one more night to air out and do it tomorrow!

Go get a plastic cover for that bulb or get a metal one to protect your snake from touching it and burning itself. Prolly won't happen but on the other hand they are dumb and looking at a scar on your snake for the rest of his or her life sucks for the 2 dollars that could have prevented it

Thanks for the advice. I am putting covers on the lights, I just hadn't put them on in the pictures. I also have doors, but they're not on in the picture either!
Thanks again!
