While it seems almost EVERY python loves poultry...I don't think its a needed thing, I work with aboreal pythons (Carpets) and many people feed chicks and such to thiers, but I have not once done it. Its true the scent of poultry can be irristable to many pythons, but I have and don't feed it.
I Honestly think you won't have a problem, they seem to be a species that is not as picky as others can be. They redily accept rodents as food as well, and honestly getting them switched over to rats is probably the best thing for them in my opinion, for you and them, as the availabity of rodents is often times easier than trying to find chicks.
I have heard of people feeding chicken....example from the grocery store...but I don't recomend it, some people might...and I am sure there are lots of reason why its ok, I just won't ever do it...
If the person your buying your womas from is feeding them poultry, you might ask if they can try a f/t rodent and see if they take it....or just go ahead and buy them and try it your self, they don't seem to be a python that would be hard to switch over, like I said mine where already on F/T rats when I got mine.
Not sure on the whole chemical thing, of poultry though...It just seems way easier to have them feeding on rodents vs. poultry...in my opinion..
