First of all, Happy New Year everyone!
I've been noticing my female rainbow getting bigger recently and I'm really hoping she's gravid. What do you guys think?
Here she is October 13, 2007

And I took this picture of her today

Could be, couple of questions...
Duh, been with a male I'd assume yes since your asking if she's gravid, but did you note any breeding activity? No always seen.
Is she eating for you?
Is she thermoregulating - all coiled up, sometimes in odd positions?

Yep, she's been with a male and I've seen him all wrapped around her a few times.
She wouldn't eat last time I tried to feed her. I'm going to try again in a couple of days.
I'm not sure I've seen her thermoregulating.
Thanks,
Rachel
All good signs, the swelling is more or less in the right polace, looks to be a little more forward than I'd like. Only time will tell.
Is the male now ignoring her like she has cooties or something?

Yeah, haven't seen the male near her in at least a week or two. I really hope she's gravid. This is my first attempt at breeding anything... Any tips I should know about at this point?
Thanks,
Rachel
Small meals if any and I don't mess with them any more than I have to!!

Rachel,
...What Dave said about small meals and not bothering her too much is great. Also leave the male with her until you are sure she is gravid. How much does she weigh?
Good luck,
Jeff

Dave, I have a question... do BRBs thermoregulate in wierd positions even if they are not gravid, or male even? I've seen both Vermillion and Indigo in funny positions a couple of times lately, and was just curious how normal it is.

I do see the odd position in them all from time to time but more-so with gravid femals, second would be with digesting a good sized meal.
The point with gravids females is it won't be a once in a blue moon occurrence, will be quite often, like they just can't get comfy any other way.
