i agree with you.
if he gets the nomination or the presidency i hope he wears his kevlar underoos, because there are probably some big wigs that don't like his message.
definitely time for a little change.

Ohh that Ron...ho ho ho!
It comes down to money and I beleive all this talk about Ron outpacing is all hoopla. Klinton and Obama are around 100 million. Giuliani and Romney are around 75 million. Paul is around 30 million. Paul's "potential outpacing" better turn to "outpacing" pretty damn quick to mean anything.
At under 2% of the total electorate polling for him it ain't gonna happen. Stick a fork in him, he's done.
But I still like him.

no way klinton or ghouliani get the ticket, or the keys to the house unless there is some real dirty work underfoot. 28 years of clinton/bush as pres or vice pres is enough already. ghouli has so much that is sticking to him... it is like the end of "deliverance" where the corpse pops up in the resevoir. this stuff doesn't go away...
i would be be very surprised if ron gets the nomination, because of what you said- $$$ or euros or yen. however it appears his message has brought a lot of people together. he's laid a good foundation (that would be oviparous, just to keep it on topic lol) for others that are better speakers/more charismatic to follow in his path and make this movement stronger. heck, this guy HAS turned chicken poop into chicken salad. ~$30 mil from mostly $100 donations tells me many somebodies are looking for change. i wouldn't be surprised to see little people start to vote for this message in their congressional districts as the representatives have for the most part just rolled over and aestivated.
and who knows. reagan had a similar message (initially) and who gave him a chance?
however i would not give up the peashooter for the forseeable future, hahaha...

Actually his donations were more in line of $20. than $100. but because of a few high dollrs contributers it avergaed out to more ($147 per I think).
Ron Paul is the most consistent candidate I have encountered in my lifetime of voting. I'm not ancient, but I'm not a pup either.
Don't know if this matters to you, but Ron Paul will insert the favors requested by his constituents into the spending bills, but then will vote against the entire spending bill. He is trying to change the system, but doesn't feel his constituents should be penalized during the meantime.
HA HA ! to keep it reptile related can you imagine what his ideas will do our hobby? The way this country is going with the ideas of more legislature our rights to keep herps and breed them will one day be taken away completely. Can you imagine what a relief his ideas would be for herpetoculturists? And don't tell me our hobby is not going to hell in a hand basket. It is already happening all over the place. The way it happens is our rights slowly get chipped away until one day we wake up and there is nothing.

well, that is his job, to get the federal taxes back into his district. but if the rest of the bill doesn't measure up he has to vote no, based on his own principles. makes sense in a pretzely twisted sort of way... but hey that's government.
if anything he says goes into effect, everything will go back to the states, so people would have to petition state government on herp rules. i don't think that trouble would cease unless pijac like organizations lobbyed for smooth transitions. (?)

I am just saying that he would effect of turning the tide towards more libertarian veiws in general.

I didnt know this forum changed from kingsnake forum to kingsnake caucus. and Rainer was that a photo at the start of the thread of ron paul or rue paul?
"I'm just happy to be here."-Thurman Munson
I'm just happy to be here."-Thurman Munson
is that a pre or posthumous quote?
he's the only yankee i ever liked. i still remember the day he went flying.
Thurman and the ny press didnt get along well. After years of misquotes(taken out of context etc)and disgusted with the press, whenever anyone interviewed Thurm during the season, Thurman would always answer by saying "I'm just happy to be here." The press could never do anything with that, and they had an uneasy truce till Thurms last years when they , too, finally grew to love the guy. I miss him too Dave. A class act, who died because of his love for his family.29 years ago this august, ya believe it? what the heck this has to do with kings i have no idea.
he played some triple a ball up here, but i wasn't even sitting up yet then, ha.
i was a big sox fan and loved to watch jim rice crush yankee pitching. i didn't dislike the yankees but thurman was the only guy i related to on that team. today, who gives a hoot. maybe with all this juice in sports it will put rice's career in perspective and he might get in the hall this year.
what does this have to do with snakes? everything! its the circle of life, a butterflies wings, whatever hahaha...

sounds dirty...lol
I liked Thurm so much I was going to name my son after him, but thankfully the wisdom of my ex shone through when she told me that Thurman Sherman just wasn't going to cut it. (she was none too crazy about Jack Daniel Sherman or Jose Cuervo Sherman or even Becks Dark Sherman either).

Rainer, please don't tell me that the pic is of spilled Jack Daniels. A greater crime I can't think of. You guys have to fly here and teach my dumbass how to take pics so I can post along with the rest of you.
"What have the Romans ever done for us?" "the aqueducts, sewers, irrigation, medicine, agriculture, peace in our times?" "Shut up!"-John Cleese
I'm just glad you didn't follow Trumbower's lead and name him Bufo Sherman!
Hey Tone, and Happy New Years. I'll call ya later for catch up. I think Bufo would be good for the kid growing up to toughen him, ala the boy named sue, no? Other names that didnt cut it for my son: Peanut Butter, Whitewall, Flame(thank goodness for that), and a big thank goodness not BlackHeaded Sherman!

"that's what i like to see---a two fisted drinker."-Howie Sherman about to put his foot in his big mouth yet again
Hey Howie, let me know if you guys are doing anything on Sunday.
I can't make this Monday, Jan. 7, but I should be able to make Monday the 14th. It will be my last Hurrah! 'cause I move to D.C. that week. Hey Dennis, it was cool seeing you at Aaron's pig pickin', for a second there I thought that the Giants might pull it off Howie. Oh well! Dennis, don't forget to put me on your list for Amazons next year. I'd love to get some new blood into my collection. If you have time, Howie and Mike Wauhop are stopping by on Monday the 7th. Your more than welcome to join them.
-Phil

Stand for something,
or you'll fall for anything!
You're first on the list Phil! Great eating pigs, watching football and fights. Ill see what I can do as far as joining you on monday. I will try my hardest to be there for the last hurrah. Sounds like all we do is drink and get together, actually I just walked in from a night of hockey and beers. Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

You mean to say that you guys actually drink alcoholic drinks? how shocking!!
>>I am just saying that he would effect of turning the tide towards more libertarian veiws in general.
under the current model where the congess and supreme court are irrelevant, i would agree. unless he does a lot of work by signing statement, aka pres shrubbery, i bet you would see in a paul presidency, checks and balances would suddenly come to life and change would be slow and hard fought for. anything he gets done would be by people mass calling their representatives and demanding x-y-z action. govt for and by the people. the same way he's getting money-from the bottom up. other wise it would be a bumpy 4 years.
wouldn't it be cool to get that rattler back on the flag?!? hahaha...

Wow Dave-all the years I've known you, I've never been aware that our politics are sympatico!
Unfortunately, I don't see Ron getting around the real powers-that-be. Belief in the people, Integrity and honesty don't count for much in what's become of the USA.
