Hi all,
I don't have any hoggies yet, but have been admiring tricolored hognosed snakes since I held one at a show a couple of years ago. About a year ago, I thought I read something about them not living much longer than 8 years or so. Recently, I read they may live as long as many other pet snakes. That, and the prices beginning to come down, have me considering getting one of these cuties.
It looks like the females get considerably bigger than the males. Would a female live longer if she was just a pet and didn't have the stresses of breeding?
Does one sex tend to hold their color better than the other?
Where can I find care sheets for this species?
Thank you for any advice.
Happy New Year.
Vicky
