I forget the scientific name, but I believe they are appropriately named "odd scaled snake".

There are several snakes in the world that go by the common name "Odd Scaled Snake", however I think the one in question is (Xenodermus javanicus) from the Malayan Archipelago from mainland, to Borneo. It is found in marshy areas of the rain forests and paddy fields. It's main diet consists of frogs. It grows to a length just over two feet long.
