Does anyone have adult anery pics to show!?

cornsnake234 Aug 25, 2003 08:47 PM

I just read the message pinatamonkey post later this day and was wondering what looks adult anery that STAY black, i already see some pics of them but they were poor quality, so if anyone got good pics of adult anery to show, it would interest me!

I just didn't know anery could get lighter with age, it's strange.

thx

This is my now adult anery at about one year old:

And here he is at two years old:

When he was bought he was a normal looking black anery that started lighting up with each shed. His black is almost gone especailly after a shed.
I bred him to an amel and produced amels and normals so he is het amel.
I also bred him to a lavender and produced normals and anerys. The anery het lavender hatchlings are getting lighter too at just 2 months old.
I will take a pic of the hatchlings and post.

Here is my 2 yr old anery female. The poor image compression of my digital camera makes it look as if there is pink between the saddles - there isn't, it's just plain gray there.

Thx for the pics, anery are beautiful snake whether black or paler. (If you have other pic to show, feel free to do it, i would be happy to see them)

My questions are:

When anery get paler, when does it occur!? (second shed, at one year old ...)

Also, can you predict if an anery would loose his black pigment!?! If yes... how!?

Thx everyone!!

my new baby, Kai, looks just like this. i am hoping that he retains the solidness of his pattern the way this one did, but i would also not be surprised if his pattern spread out/"faded" between now and adulthood. i'm not sure without seeing parents (mine is a pet store purchase) whether you can be sure how much a hatchling will fade or darken. i'm trying to get photos of him but none have been successful so far, so i can compare later (and post here, too.)
