Ok I took all aspects of everything everyone said into real consideration and have come to a final conclusion on the idea mentioned lower in this forum, My final decision is to pass on the offer. I will make a counter offer to assist in any way possible to get this particular individual into the hobby and if he wants to make a business out of it I will have no problem being on a payroll at any level in which he needs help but as far as him investing in me the answer is no. By the way now that a final decision has been reached by my wife and I, I can say said investor was my father. Thanks for all the input on this matter, Every reply was very helpful in its own respect.

Well jeeze, your father was the invester? In that case take the money and run with it, especially if it's actually your father-inlaw, the worst that can happen is you go bankrupt and get disowned If your gonna be spoiled you might as well be happy about it. Take advise with a grain of salt.

I think it is even better that you passed than if it was just a good friend. It would be even worse to chance ruining a close family relationship than if it was "just" a good friend. But since it is your dad, you will feel great helping him out to do his own thing while not being committed to doing more than you really want to.

Hopefully you will both have a fun and profitable hobby / business, and maybe can each work on some projects that will be complementary instead of competitive. Then you can help each other on marketing as well.

On that note it would also be easier to take him into trading one animal for another to diversify our collections. Thanks again.
