Calvert County, MD Kings: the hatch 9/07

ECC Jan 03, 2008 05:36 PM

I caught this female on May 17, 2007 in Calvert County, MD

Here she is just as I found her (had my camera with me when I flipped her)

She laid this clutch on June 22, 2007 (was gravid when I caught her)

The eggs started hatching on August 30, 2007

Below is my "keeper" from the clutch. He was also the 1st to eat; less than two weeks from hatching!

Another pic of the same male (clutch 1, male #10)

And here is a female from the clutch: pure SPUNK!

Unbelievably I caught a second, also gravid female under the same door on June 14, 2007!

She laid this clutch of 9 eggs on June 26, 2007

Her clutch started hatching on September 2, 2007

I did not take any more pictures from this hatch (got busy quick). Almost all of the babies were given to friends. Waiting on a few more to be "stable" enough for me to git out to my buds... that's what this is all about, anyway!

See you guys later --------------

Two too elegant ladies!

My two little ones are doing great. I hope they grow up to be big and beautiful like yours!

No sooner had I got them out then I got them mixed up - now I call them "A" and "B" LOL.

Have a Happy New Year,
